The Infrastructure Architect is considered the highest level domain technology expert and is responsible for effectively implementing strategies architectures and solutions in alignment with Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Operations and Security guidelines. The Infrastructure Architect develops actionable blueprints, principles, models, designs, standards, and guidelines for assigned projects/initiatives to ensure information technology architecture is consistent, unable, secure, and adds value to the business. 

The Infrastructure Architect facilitates design and implementation of flexible, scalable and cost effective 
solutions. The Infrastructure Architect provides technical guidance to the Systems Engineering and Network Engineering teams. The Infrastructure Architect is assigned to projects of large size and complexity. The Infrastructure Architect is also relied upon to consult, negotiate, and build consensus with internal stakeholders and external partners. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Establishes and maintains Systems and Network Engineering domain specific standards, near/mid-term strategy, and roadmaps (0-18 months), in adherence to, and in support of Enterprise standards, strategy, and roadmaps 
  • Accountable for adhering to Enterprise architecture standards, ensuring technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization and contributing to enterprise architecture strategy-setting 
  • Builds consensus around principles of infrastructure architecture and interprets and clarifies these principles 
  • Serves as infrastructure architecture subject matter expert to business partners, project teams and vendors to apply and execute appropriate use of technology solutions and lead efforts to examine technology vision, opportunities and challenges 
  • Develops technical specifications and solutions design documents 
  • Promotes implementation of new technology, solutions and methods to improve business processes, efficiency, effectiveness and value delivered to customers 
  • Participates in the evaluation, selection and implementation of technology solutions including providing detailed analysis of pros and cons and build vs buy options 
  • Evaluates strengths and flaws in infrastructure architecture including performance, quality, availability, simplicity of design, security and total cost of ownership 
  • Continually works to enhance breadth and depth of knowledge and experience. Benchmarks technology strategies and architectures. Identifies and anticipates trends and investigates organizational objectives and needs. Prepares bench marking reports and presentations 
  • Establishes and maintains vendor relationships to review and evaluate designs and controls and influence changes in future product releases 
  • Assess vendor implementation and test strategies for systems, network and voice technologies 
  • Performs other duties as assigned/necessary 

Minimum Requirements: 
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related major or equivalent IS I business experience 
  • 7+ years designing and implementing enterprise scale systems, networking and telecommunication solutions 
  • 2+ years of experience architecting cloud solutions (laaS, PaaS) 
  • 3+ years of designing and managing a hybrid cloud infrastructure and strong knowledge in moving solutions between on-prem data centers and cloud infrastructure 
  • Strong technical knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperV etc), Storage systems and OS administration. 
  • Subject matter expert on routing/switching technologies, network protocols, firewalls and other network defenses, optimization technologies, and monitoring tools 
  • In-depth experience with voice and telephony technologies including Cisco CallManager and related technologies 
  • Experience working with security technologies such as Data Encryption, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS and Proxies 
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and influence others in a tactful and diplomatic manner 
  • Strong analytical problem solver with attention to detail organized
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously 
  • Ability to be "Hands-on" in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative matrix environment 
  • Proficiency in the English language 
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
